Burnette came from humbled beginnings and rose from adversity. She spent the first eight and most crucial years of her childhood living in poverty, in a three-room house in the red clays of Albany, Georgia. That time in her life set the foundation of how she developed a compassionate heart for people who are marginalized, defeated or simply seen as the underdogs. Her beginnings have played a major role in the way she has charted her life and career - always looking back to her beginnings and never forgetting where she came from. This has also given her the "positive and optimistic lens" in which she views life, people and opportunity. She is a former banking executive and an astute business woman with a Bachelor of Science in Social Psychology, Masters of Business Administration and over two decades of entrepreneurial experience.
